Next year’s Super Bowl will be in Las Vegas and BetMGM and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) are already getting ready. BetMGM, one of the many licensed Colorado sportsbooks, announced a new multi-year partnership with the NFL Players Association.
In the partnership, both organizations will share resources to create engaging fan experiences involving current and retired NFL players. The partnership made its debut in the days leading up to the NFL Pro Bowl in Las Vegas last week.
But it will go full tilt for next year’s Super Bowl and the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit. MGM Resorts Senior Vice President of Sports & Sponsorships Lance Evans said in a release trumpeting the news:
“Partnering with the NFLPA is another indication of our strong commitment to the great sport of football across the US. As football’s premier events come to Las Vegas, we look forward to welcoming players and creating a world-class experience for MGM Rewards members.”
Colorado sportsbooks are flourishing
Since legalizing sports betting in 2019, Colorado fans have enjoyed the ability to bet on the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. And also the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League.
BetMGM is one of many online sports betting providers along with Caesars, FanDuel, DraftKings, PointsBet and others.
The latest report from the Colorado Department of Revenue showed that Colorado residents gambled over $518 million on sports during December. Basketball led the way with $147 million, followed by pro football at $137 million. However, if you add in college football’s $38 million, football becomes Colorado’s top sport to bet on.
BetMGM Meets NFLPA
The NFLPA is the union of professional football players for the National Football League. It started in 1956.
The deal with BetMGM means that players in the NFLPA can negotiate individual ambassador contracts to promote BetMGM resorts through appearances, branded social media posts, autographed memorabilia and advertisements.
“NFL players, past and present, will be at the heart of unforgettable new experiences through MGM Resorts International rewards program,” said Gina Scott, Vice President of Partner Services, NFLPA. “We are excited about collaborating on world-class fan events designed to produce incredible benefits for MGM Rewards members and value for our players.”
This year’s Super Bowl took place at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix. Super Bowl LVIII (58) is scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024. It will be the first time Las Vegas has hosted a Super Bowl.
Las Vegas hosted the NFL Draft in 2022 and just hosted the Pro Bowl Games this past weekend. When the Super Bowl kicks off in 2024, Las Vegas will be the first city to have hosted all three of the NFL’s signature events.
