Microbetting operator Betr is expanding its sports betting services to the Centennial State. The Miami-based sports gaming and sports media company announced a new market access deal for an online sportsbook in Colorado.
Once Betr launches, there will be 20 legal online sportsbooks in the Colorado sports betting market for residents to choose from. By law, Colorado can authorize up to 30 online sportsbooks.
Partnership helps Betr secure spot in CO sports betting market
Betr was founded in 2022 by Joey Levy and Jake Paul. The company is now slowly gaining traction in the US sports betting market, enough so that the operator is ready to move into Colorado.
Betr’s online sportsbook agreement in Colorado is with Boulter Developments, pending license approval from the Colorado Division of Gaming. Additionally, Boulter Developments has taken an equity interest in Betr.
“Boulter Developments is excited to be partnering with Betr in the wonderful state of Colorado, pending licensing approval from the Colorado Division of Gaming,” Boulter Developments executive Steve Boulter said. “Their innovative approach to the gaming space, along with their intuitive product and rapidly growing media arm, make this a no-brainer partnership for us. Further, we are thrilled to be equity partners as we firmly believe Betr is the future of sports gaming in America as they continue to make sports and betting, better.”
There is no official launch date for the Betr Colorado online sportsbook. However, the company has announced plans to roll out its new sportsbook product in all of its licensed jurisdictions throughout 2024 in a phased set of launches.
Betr announces online gaming expansion plans
It remains to be seen when exactly Betr’s sports betting app will go live in Colorado. Furthermore, Colorado isn’t the only place where Betr is looking to expand.
Betr has also secured market access for an online sportsbook in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. The company will also launch an online casino product in Pennsylvania. Currently, Betr Sportsbook’s beta version is live in Massachusetts, Ohio and Virginia. However, the operator plans to leave Massachusetts in the near future.
Betr has applied for a mobile sports wagering license in Maryland. The operator also has market access in Indiana but has not gone live there yet. The operator hopes to launch a full version of its online sportsbook before the 2024 NFL season starts. Betr plans to be live in seven states by the end of the year.
