There’s never an offseason when it comes to the Denver Broncos.

Even in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and when there are no sports, the Broncos find a way to capture our attention.

A Broncos win total odds boost is available just in time for this historic day, as regulated sports betting becomes official in Colorado. It could make futures markets on the 2020-21 NFL season more enticing for prospective bettors.

Regardless of someone’s sports betting expertise, it is a great way for fans in Colorado to dip their toes in these new waters.

If you are new to the sports betting lexicon, you probably asked: what is an “odds boost” bet?

It’s when the odds for a game or prop bet are increased on certain wagering opportunities, moving the odds in favor of the bettor.

In this case, fans can place bets on odds of the Broncos reaching 6.5 wins next season.

Details on the DraftKings boost

DraftKings is the home of this boost. It’s one of four apps that is now live in Colorado. To take advantage of it, you need a valid account at DraftKings Sportsbook and physically be within Colorado borders when you access the markets.

If you’ve registered with DraftKings Sportsbook in another state, you can sign in with your existing credentials. If you’ve played daily fantasy games at DraftKings but have not yet used the sportsbook, you can use your existing credentials to start your registration process.

When you access the app, you need to put down a bet on the over on Denver’s win total for the 2020-21 NFL season. Currently, that line sits at 6.5 with odds of -305. The boost keeps the line the same but raises the odds to +100.

You are not eligible for the boost if you access DraftKings Sportsbook anywhere but Colorado, or after 11:59 p.m. ET on May 5. Using the Broncos win total as part of any parlay also makes your bet ineligible for the boost.

If you cash your bet out early, it becomes ineligible for the boost. The same applies if you wager more than $50 on the market. You may not use bonus credit to make this wager. But new users can combine their $25 registration promotion with this boost.

Will the Broncos win 7 games?

What makes this a little tricky is that Denver’s schedule hasn’t been released yet. All indications are that the NFL will release the schedules on May 9.

At least fans know who and where the Broncos will play.

There are the regular six games in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers, plus:

  • Four games with the AFC East (home to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins; at the New York Jets and New England Patriots).
  • Four games with the NFC South (home to the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers; at the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers).
  • The schedule completes with Denver at home facing the Tennessee Titans and at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Colorado sports betting opens with the Broncos

While the oddsmakers aren’t sold on the Broncos after the NFL Draft, Broncos Country might feel differently and think the team will hit that seven-win mark.

If you do and you take part in the DraftKings boost, you could take home some extra money.

In that case, everyone wins.
