Plans For New Central City Casino Include Online Sports Betting Via ZenSports

Central City is set to get a new casino.

Later this year.

Tied into that is the casino’s plan, run by Boulter Developments, to offer online sports betting via ZenSports. The exclusive deal is for the next 15 years.

According to a recent press release, the casino will first look to get approval for a master license. Once that happens, ZenSports will apply for its sports betting operator and internet sports betting license via the Colorado Division of Gaming (DOG).

When the license comes before the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (CLGCC), it will likely get approved.

The Colorado sports betting market currently has 18 online sportsbooks and 16 retail shops.

As Boulter said in the press release:

“We’re excited to open up a new casino location in Central City later in 2021. And we are thrilled to be partnering with ZenSports on the sports betting side. Mark (Thomas) and his team have built the future of sports betting via the ZenSports mobile app. (They’ve) shown a scrappy mentality for growing its business over the last two years, and are making real inroads here in the U.S. market. They’re an exciting partner that we look forward to working with for many years to come.”

Familiar name to Colorado gaming

For those familiar with casinos in Colorado, the name Boulter might look familiar.

As the release notes, Steve Boulter was instrumental in legalizing gambling in Colorado starting in 1989. He then opened the first casino in Black Hawk in October 1991.

The release adds that Boulter has been continually licensed by the DOG for the last 30 years.

The fact Central City will add a new casino is huge for the town and Gilpin County.

It will add another source of employment and income, two things all involved desperately need.

According to ZenSports co-founder and CEO Mark Thomas:

“We’re now looking forward to beginning the process to get licensed in Colorado. We couldn’t have a better partner than Steve Boulter, who has been a pillar in the Colorado casino gaming community for 30 years.”

What Colorado sports bettors can expect from ZenSports

In terms of ZenSports, the release said it’s a mobile sports betting app that offers a wide variety of features to appeal to the next generation of sports bettors.

One of the ways it does this is via a peer-to-peer sports betting marketplace.

The release notes that anyone in any legal market in the world can create and accept sports bets with anyone else in any legal market in the world.

The fascinating aspect of this is it does so without the need for a bookmaker.

This allows consumers to quickly and easily create their own bets with their own odds and terms. Or they can accept bets that others in the marketplace have created.

The other way ZenSports appeals to a new generation of sports bettors is it offers the ability to fund and wager via cryptocurrencies (in addition to traditional fiat methods).

The release notes that this gives customers a faster, cheaper, and friction-less way to get money in, bet, and get money out.

In that refrain, ZenSports has also created its own cryptocurrency utility token called SPORTS.

According to the release, that allows consumers to place bets, earn discounted betting fees, and get cash back, bonuses, and other rewards.

Given how innovative the Colorado sports betting market is, this could turn into an interesting marriage.
