Colorado 2021 Home Run Derby betting

Coors Field is known for home runs.

So it’s fitting that the Home Run Derby makes its return to the home of the Colorado Rockies for the first time since 1998.

If you were curious, yes, Home Run Derby betting is allowed in Colorado.

And one of the participants is Rockies shortstop Trevor Story.

Will we get Story Time at Coors Field tonight?

Here’s a breakdown of what is available to bet on for the Home Run Derby and the MLB All-Star Game over the next two days.

Home Run Derby odds

As of now, Story is at +800 to win the Home Run Derby at DraftKings Colorado sportsbook.

The obvious and clear favorite is Shohei Ohtani at +250.

However, since 2001, the MLB betting favorite in the Home Run Derby is 2-17. And at +800, Story has a pretty good market.

Here are the current odds at DraftKings to win the Home Run Derby:

  • Shohei Ohtani +250
  • Joey Gallo +450
  • Pete Alonso +500
  • Matt Olson +525
  • Juan Soto +800
  • Trevor Story +800
  • Salvador Perez +1,000
  • Trey Macini +1,400

Home Run Derby prop bets

The various Colorado online sportsbooks have some decent prop markets for the Home Run Derby as well. If you don’t want to bet the winner, this is a fun way to add to the event.

DraftKings has the total home runs with the over/under at 265.5. For both, the number is -113.

The book also has a prop for the length of the longest home run (measured in feet). The over/under is 519.5, with the number for both at -110. For what it’s worth, the longest home run ever hit at Coors Field is 504 feet. Expect that number to get shattered tonight.

There’s also a market for the player to hit the longest home run. Ohtani is the favorite at +325, followed by Gallo at +400, Alonso +425, Story +600, Oslo +700, Soto +750, Perez +800 and Mancini +1,000.

The final prop bet offered at DraftKings is the exact outcome.

Over at FanDuel online sportsbook in Colorado, you can name the finalists. The favorite is Ohtani vs Gallo at +450. Ohtani vs Story is +950.

Home Run Derby odds boosts

Obviously, the sportsbooks will have fun with the odds boosts and promos for the event.

BetMGM sportsbook boosted Story to win the Home Run Derby to +850.

At WilliamHill, Mancini is boosted to win the Home Run Derby to +1,400.

All-Star Game betting

Of course, the main event is the All-Star Game on Tuesday.

The American League is the current favorite at DraftKings (-1.5). The sportsbook also has some good game props that you can bet on, including team totals, to score first and win and first team to score.

The last time the Home Run Derby was at Coors Field, fans were given a show by Ken Griffey Jr. Given how the ball flies out of the ballpark at 20th and Blake, we’re in for an even better showing tonight.

What Ohtani is doing right now is historic, and the Home Run Derby is his latest showcase.

But can this become a Story fairytale?
