Coloradans, you’re now among the growing crowd that can legally place wagers on sporting events on BetMGM. That’s thanks to a market access deal with the Midnight Rose Hotel and Casino in Cripple Creek.
BetMGM is one of the premier online sportsbook brands across the country. While the Midnight Rose is closed, this allows patrons to try their hands at a new form of legal gambling.
Details on the deal between BetMGM and the Midnight Rose
The partnership between these two brands is exclusive. It makes BetMGM the primary online skin for the Midnight Rose, which is one of three Triple Crown Casinos in Cripple Creek.
Triple Crown has a market access deal for one of its other Cripple Creek properties as well. JP McGill’s Hotel and Casino is represented by the BetRivers brand as far as online sports betting goes.
So far, Triple Crown hasn’t announced a market access deal for its third Cripple Creek property, the Brass Ass Casino. Several suitors remain, so it may happen later this year.
The market access deal covers only online wagering but with a master license from the state of Colorado, the Midnight Rose can also offer sports betting on a retail basis. It’s uncertain whether Triple Crown intends to offer a brick-and-mortar sportsbook at all three of its properties.
Naturally, all of Triple Crown’s properties will have to reopen their doors before taking on land-based sports betting. Currently, there is no timeline for when that will occur.
Fortunately, you don’t have to visit the Midnight Rose to legally put down your money on current and future sporting events. You can go through the entire process of registration, making your deposit and placing your bet on your computer or smartphone.
That means a new day for Coloradans and visitors to the state. You might be wondering what there is to bet on right now, however. Don’t worry, there are still great options.
How can BetMGM offer betting with no sports going on right now?
It’s true that the majority of the most popular North American sports that would normally be ongoing right now are suspended. The fact that there are no Colorado Rockies or Denver Nuggets games happening right now is definitely significant.
That doesn’t mean there are no options for sports bettors right now, however. CO allows online sportsbooks to offer wagers on a wide array of sports around the world.
