Two major players in the sports gaming industry have partnered up to bring more mobile betting options to Colorado bettors.

It was announced last Thursday that International Game Technology (IGT) signed an agreement to power the Circa Sports Colorado mobile sports betting app with the IGT PlaySports platform. Earlier this year, Circa Sports announced plans to launch its mobile app for Colorado in partnership with Century Casinos. It’s still unclear whether Circa will operate the retail sportsbooks at both or either of the casinos that Century operates in Central City and Cripple Creek.

If Circa Sports does mobile and online betting only in Colorado, it would represent its first foray into this type of wagering. Circa operates a retail book in Las Vegas.

“We look forward to introducing patrons and sports fans in Colorado to the excitement of Vegas-style sports betting through the Circa Sports Colorado mobile app,” Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said in a press release. “IGT is the ideal partner for our sports betting expansion. The IGT PlaySports platform continues to prove its ability to support world-class sports betting operations across the US, and I am confident it will enable us to quickly differentiate Circa Sports in Colorado and beyond.”

What is IGT?

IGT PlaySports is currently powering sports betting across 11 states and at venues ranging from commercial and tribal-run casinos to lottery-run destinations and a high-profile racetrack.

As the press release notes, IGT is the global leader in gaming. It delivers entertaining and responsible gaming experiences for players across all channels and regulated segments, from gaming machines and lotteries to sports betting and digital. IGT also leverages a wealth of compelling content, substantial investment in innovation, player insights, operational expertise, and leading-edge technology. Its solutions deliver unrivaled gaming experiences that engage players and drive growth, according to the press release.

IGT has a well-established, local presence and relationships with governments and regulators in more than 100 countries around the world, and creates value by adhering to the highest standards of service, integrity, and responsibility, according to the press release. “Together with Circa Sports, IGT will expand its PlaySports footprint into Colorado, another US state with compelling sports betting growth opportunities for IGT and our customers,” said Enrico Drago, IGT PlayDigital Senior Vice President, in the press release. “Circa Sports is a forward-thinking sports betting provider and we look forward to helping them realize their vision of entertaining users with leading multi-state sports betting experiences through our PlaySports technology and services.”

Circa Sports in Colorado

As for Circa Sports, the press release notes that it is blazing a new trail in the gaming industry by combining a customer-first approach to business with a team of the country’s top oddsmakers. Circa Sports boasts one of the most competitive wagering menus and leads in future betting options, per the press release. Following the company’s launch at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino and the D Las Vegas, Circa Sports will open its multi-level, stadium-style sportsbook at Circa Resort & Casino in 2020.

A cloud of uncertainty still looms over the state and country, but the options and services for Colorado sports bettors is getting more focused as the May 1 launch of legal sports betting in the state approaches. And with Circa Sports partnering with IGT, another big-name player will try to entice Coloradans to test their luck with their products.
