The Carousel Group and Johnny Nolon’s Casino is the latest sports betting partnership to form in Colorado.

The pairing was announced after Carousel Group received licensing approval from the Colorado Division of Gaming.

The group will serve as the web and mobile app for customers within Colorado state lines, according to a news release on Monday. That will happen via its SportsBetting.com website.

Attempts by PlayColorado to reach the Carousel Group for further questions were unsuccessful.

“Despite the ongoing and tragic global crisis, we couldn’t be more confident and optimistic about the sports industry and we’re very excited to be bringing our flagship brand to the American market,” Carousel Group CEO Daniel Graetzer said in the release. “While other entities have closed their doors and laid off employees, we’re hiring staff and expanding our operations into the United States.”

When the site launches this summer, it will bring a unique and powerful product to Colorado sports bettors, according to the release.

The Carousel Group established in 2017 with the mission to build a global iGaming empire in the regulated online gambling space.

As it states in the release, the Carousel Group and its flagship brands will utilize proprietary technology to offer market-leading odds behind a customer-first experience.

“We have built our business upon a team with years of experience in the industry combined with our own technology, which gives us a huge advantage over the competition,” Graetzer said in the release. “It’s in our DNA to be innovative, and with our own technology, we will offer something fresh, exciting and very customer-oriented to the US betting community.”

There are now five apps for Colorado sports bettors to use. That is out of 17 that will launch at some point.

  • DraftKings: Partner with Golden Mardi Gras
  • FanDuel: Partner with Golden Gates Casino
  • BetMGM: Partner with Midnight Rose Hotel and Casino
  • BetRivers: Partner with J.P. McGill’s Hotel and Casino
  • BetMonarch

Sports betting in Cripple Creek

As for Johnny Nolon’s in Cripple Creek, the casino is excited to add sports betting to its amenities.

Johnny Nolon’s was the first property to open for casino gambling in the historic mining town of Cripple Creek on Oct. 1, 1991. It has been a mainstay in the Colorado gambling and entertainment scene for nearly 30 years, according to the release.

The casino features more than 250 slot machines, and, in more normal times, nonstop action 24 hours a day.

Per Colorado Gov. Jared Polis’ “safer-at-home” policy, it remains unclear when Colorado casinos will reopen to the public.

“We are delighted to be partnering with such an emerging, dynamic and technologically driven company such as Carousel Group and are very excited about this partnership,” David Minter, managing director of Johnny Nolon’s, said in the release. “Johnny Nolon’s Casino was the first casino to open for casino gambling in Cripple Creek and we are looking forward to now finally be able to offer sports betting.”
