SuperBook has closed its online sportsbook in Colorado after three years of operation in the Centennial State.

Customers are urged to withdraw all funds from the sports betting operator immediately.

Colorado joins a handful of other states Superbook has decided to exit. It will still operate a sportsbook in Nevada.

Status of Superbook’s retail sportsbook in Black Hawk uncertain

Superbook entered the Colorado online sports betting market in January 2021. At the time, it was the 17th online sportsbook in the state.

Earlier this year, a SuperBook retail sportsbook opened at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk. The company has not said if it will continue to operate.

SuperBook has its roots in Nevada, where it still has a retail presence at SuperBook of the Westgate Las Vegas, one of the largest brick-and-mortar sportsbooks in the world. The February debut of Circa Sports retail sportsbook inside Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, however, knocked SuperBook to second on the list of the largest retail sportsbooks on Earth.

Superbook is also shuttering online operations in seven other states:

  • Arizona
  • Iowa
  • Maryland
  • New Jersey
  • Ohio
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia

Betr plans to launch in Colorado before September

It’s the second sportsbook to cease operations in Colorado in the last month. Betway closed its online sportsbook a few weeks ago. Colorado now has 17 licensed online sports betting operators, though two sportsbooks are expected to enter the market in the next couple of months.

Betr is working to launch in Colorado before the NFL season begins. At the same time, Novig, which closed its sportsbook in Colorado earlier this year, is expected to return after state gaming regulators approve its betting exchange system.

According to the Colorado Gaming Division website, the state currently has a dozen retail sportsbooks, three of them operated by Caesars.
