Dragon Tiger Casino history
Back in the 1990s when gambling was first legalized in Colorado, the Dragon Tiger was orginally known as The Central Palace Casino. Its first owner was George Maloof, of the prominent Maloof family.
CC Gaming LLC bought the property for a reported $725,000 and then invested another $5.5 million in renovations. In 2010 it reopened as the Reserve Casino Hotel and later the name was changed to Johnny Z’s.
In 2019, Maverick Gaming LLC purchased Central City-based Johnny Z’s and Grand Z Casino Hotel, and Z Casino, located in Black Hawk. Soon after, Johnny Z’s was renamed the Dragon Tiger.
